Position Title: Middle School Counselor Division: Middle School Supervisor: Middle School Principal Position Summary: At Concordia International School Hanoi, we believe in ensuring students receive a holistic education that prioritizes their emotional, social, personal, and academic development. We are seeking an exceptional Middle School Counselor to lead and support the pastoral and developmental care of students in grades 6-8. Full-time teachers lead an after-school activity once per week throughout the year. On regular school days, all teachers are on campus between 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM, not including activities and meetings. [desired] Experience working in an international school setting [desired] Familiarity with the American educational system [desired] Experience working successfully with an ethnically diverse population [desired] Experience working with students with specific learning needs [desired] Experience working with English Language Learners (ELLs) Prioritized Experience [highly desired] Experience with student scheduling [desired] Familiarity with SHAPE and ISCA Standards Desired Skills & Program Familiarity Standards-based learning, assessment, grading, and reporting (SBL, SBG, SBA, SBR) PowerSchool Rubicon Atlas Google Suite cloud applications: Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms, etc. Key Areas of Responsibility: Counseling Program & Social-Emotional Learning Deliver a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate middle school counseling program aligned with the school’s core values. Provide proactive guidance, individual and small-group counseling addressing student social, emotional, and academic development needs. Gather and analyze data to evaluate student needs and continuously refine counseling services. Collaborate with teachers and administration to embed social-emotional learning across the middle school curriculum. Teach life skills and social-emotional learning classes, including topics related to executive functioning, growth mindset, drugs and alcohol, sex education, communication and conflict, nutrition, stress, sleep, and social media. Pastoral Care & Student Support Respond effectively to students' emotional, social, and behavioral needs, providing crisis intervention and safety monitoring when necessary. Model interpersonal skills, respectful relationships, and positive problem-solving strategies to foster a safe, inclusive learning environment. Manage student behavioral interventions in partnership with administration and homeroom teachers, maintaining consistent and restorative approaches. Collaborate with support specialists (English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Learning Support) and homeroom teachers to ensure holistic care for all learners. Collaboration & Parent Communication Establish proactive, clear, and supportive communication with parents regarding student development, emotional well-being, and academic progress. Actively participates in divisional and Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings. Partners with parents and external care providers to offer holistic support and educational resources. Is available for parents to discuss their child’s transition or response to crisis. Respects the rights of custodial and noncustodial parents/guardians and strives for consistent, constructive two-way communication in the parents' preferred language with translation assistance. Professional Responsibilities & Growth Set annual professional goals aligned with divisional and school-wide strategic objectives. Engage in continuous professional development (courses, workshops, conferences) to stay current with best practices in school counseling and child development. This position is as principal and 7th and 8th grade teacher of an LCMS pre-K-8th grade school. Teaching load is reduced to accommodate for administrative duties. We have a supportive congregation and are looking for a leader to work with congregational leadership to equip students and families to live the callings of Jesus.

Trinity-St. John Lutheran School - Nashville, IL Position Opening: 5-8th Grade LA & Lit Teacher T-SJ is in need of a Middle School Language Arts teacher. Classes would include some combined and some separate 5-8th grade groups on a 42 minute 8 period schedule. This position would also include 8th grade homeroom.
